Month 3

Lily is 3 months old today!!!!! YAY! It is bittersweet though because we dropped off Jeff at the airport this morning.
The deployment that was "suppose" to be about three months give or take, has turned into a possible 6 months. Jeff and I are BOTH devistated. We found out only a few days ago that his orders have been changed to 6 months. It still has not sunk in for either of us that he might be gone that long.
I am use to Jeff leaving...I mean, seriously he is gone 6 months out of the year since our second year of marriage...but never six months straight and things are SO different now that we have Lily....6 months is a LONG time to be away from an infant...she will change and grow SO much in those months. I am going to try to make the best of it and PRAY,PRAY,PRAY that a miracle happens and he is back home by December. I am going to miss him so much. He is my rock and really the foundation of our little family.

Anyway, here are some random life bullets for you. After this posting, the blog will be a daily picture or video of Lily.

- Lily is about 11lbs now and 22.5 inches long! She has grown SO MUCH, but is still in the 17th percentile on the "charts." We are not a bit concerned though.

- We had our family photoshoot! We had a blast. Here is my favorite picture:

- Mommy and me is getting much better. I am getting to know the other moms better and Lily REALLY seems to enjoy it now. Here she is laughing at me blowing bubbles:

-Lily's reflux has improved a lot. The doctor switched her to Prevacid and it was AWFUL, so we put her back on Xantac. Consistancy with the Zantac along with me watching what I eat and keeping her upright for 30mins after she eats, really has made a difference and she seems like a brand new baby.

-She now sleeps "thru the night". She goes down at around 9pm. Is semi-awake at 11pm for a diaper change and to eat, and is down for the count at 11:45pm until about 4:30 or 5am. She wakes up, eats, babbles, plays, kicks her legs, and is back down at 8am for her morning nap. It is GLORIOUS!

- I have lost 50lbs and still losing!!!!!!

- I don't hold Lily nearly as much as I use to. She is getting very good at keeping herself entertained.

-I am still exclusively breastfeeding her and it is EASY PEESY!

- I am still cloth diapering her exclusively during the day. I try to do it when we are out and about, but I can never seem to bring enough diapers, so 9 times out of 10 she ends up in a disposable when we are out...but I am trying. We also still use disposables at night because she wakes up if she feels wet or cold.

-I feel like I am FINALLY officially in the groove of things as a mom and I love it. Being Lily's mother is one of the more rewarding parts of my life. Jeff and I enjoy being parents together too.

- Jeff and I celebrated 6 years of marriage on the 23rd.

- Since Lily has been here we have not been having the little petty fights we use to have before she was born...we stop and think about it and definately pick our battles. I think we just both feel there are MUCH bigger things to worry about now that Lily is here. Our marriage is strong. We are so blessed.

- I feel like we have grown up a lot...gotten a little old even.

Cheers,
Kira
